SET UP & TROUBLESHOOT
Help with the essentials.
My records are not syncing with iCloud.
- Check that each device uses the same iCloud account and has an internet connection.
- Open TutNote on both devices and check the iCloud status in TutNote Settings.
- Give synchronization time to complete. Changes made offline are not immediately visible elsewhere.
- Check available iCloud storage and any account or network errors.
If the data store cannot open, TutNote blocks editing and displays an error. Preserve your data and the error message; avoid deleting or reinstalling the app as a first troubleshooting step.
How do I enable lesson reminders?
In TutNote Settings, turn on lesson reminders and use Enable notifications to grant permission. Choose a lead time of 5, 10, 15, 30, or 60 minutes. If you previously denied permission, enable it in your device’s Settings.
Only future planned lessons receive reminders. Configure reminders separately on each device and reopen TutNote after changes arrive from another device. The app schedules up to 60 nearest reminders; background refresh and delivery depend on the operating system. Check Focus settings and notification previews if reminders are not visible.
Are reminders available for assessments?
The current app schedules notifications for lessons only. You can record tests, quizzes, and other assessments and view their dates in TutNote, but assessment notifications are not currently enabled in the app.
How do I export lessons to Apple Calendar?
Enable iCloud Calendar on your device. In TutNote Settings, enable Apple Calendar synchronization and grant full calendar access. TutNote creates or uses a separate TutNote calendar in iCloud.
Make schedule changes in TutNote. Apple Calendar changes do not flow back into the app and may be overwritten. Open TutNote to refresh exports after changes arrive from another device.
How do I remove exported calendar events?
Disable Apple Calendar synchronization in TutNote and confirm removal. TutNote removes its exported events while leaving the calendar. If permissions or iCloud access prevent removal, restore access and reopen the app, or remove the separate TutNote calendar manually in Apple Calendar.
Why does a payment appear twice?
Payments are manually recorded. Recording the same payment on two offline devices can create separate entries after iCloud sync. Review the received payments and undo the incorrect entry. Undoing removes its allocations, which may span several lessons; it does not refund money.
Does archiving a student delete their records?
No. Archiving keeps the student and associated history and removes them from the active list. You can restore them from the archive. See the privacy policy for available deletion controls.
Which devices and currency are supported?
TutNote requires iOS / iPadOS 26 or later on iPhone or iPad. For a new setup, TutNote selects a billing currency based on the app language and supported regional variant; English (US) uses USD. You can choose another supported currency in Settings. Changing currency does not convert existing amounts; existing records keep their numerical values.
